Twenty new prime movers for terminal work at Colombo and Hambantota
A twenty-truck investment aimed squarely at terminal demand at CICT and HIPG — and at the jobs that come with it in both Colombo and Hambantota.
International Logistics & Movers Ltd. and ILM Shipping Services Ltd. have invested in 20 brand new prime movers, a direct response to rising demand for terminal services at the Ports of Colombo and Hambantota.
ILM Holdings Group CEO Hadley Rodrigo called the milestone a privilege, singling out the group's work with Colombo International Container Terminals (CICT) and Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG).
“Beyond just providing services, we are partners in growth. We are fully dedicated to meeting the terminal's needs, and we will work tirelessly to ensure the success of this collaboration.”
Scaling with Hambantota's container volumes
ILM Shipping Services CEO Tressel Silva described the chance to deploy the fleet for ITV operations at Hambantota as an exciting challenge, and said the company is ready to scale as more container vessels call at the port.
The deployment also creates new jobs in both Colombo and Hambantota. As Silva put it, the group is not simply adding vehicles to a fleet — it is adding value to every link in the logistics chain.
